Biography

Madeleine Wilcox is a professional dancer and choreographer from the United States with years dance training experience in ballet, modern, contemporary, commercial, jazz, hip-hop, and improvisation. Madeleine received early rigorous dance training from the Louisville Ballet School in Louisville, Kentucky and has received scholarships to train with a variety of programs including Cincinnati Ballet, Kirov Academy of Ballet, Next Generation Ballet, Carolina Civic Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Florida State University, the University of South Florida, and the University of Roehampton.

Madeleine has choreographic experience ranging from choreographed work that was premiered at the 2015 Regional Dance America Festival, to just recently premiering her newest choreographed work with third row dance company based in london, england. She centers her choreography on a contemporary style of movement that utilizes ballet, jazz, and commercial techniques to sharpen the refined flow of her work.

 

Collegiately, Madeleine has performed in works for dance concert pieces at both the University of South Florida and the University of Roehampton for various resident choreographers and has had opportunities to perform for the Performing Arts Medicine Association in NYC and at the USF Dance in Paris, France Summer Program. Professionally, Madeleine has experience doing a variety of contracted contemporary and commercial dance gigs, including character performance work, and has experience with professional dance on film. Madeleine has summer internship experience as the Head Resident Assistant at the Next Generation Ballet Summer Intensive in Tampa, Florida and as a Resident Assistant for the Alonzo King LINES Summer Intensive Program in San Francisco, California. She has work experience as a dance instructor in Tampa, Florida and in london, england teaching ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz classes at local studios. Madeleine also has theme park performance experience with ZooTampa at Lowry Park.

 

Madeleine graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance with a minor in psychology. She currently resides in London, England while she completes a Master of Arts in Dance Practice and Performance at the University of Roehampton.
